Branson, Mo

You know you are in the South when you see fried green beans, fried catfish and fried pies on the menu. They fry everything here and Herm is loving that.
We are spending 4 nights here but may extend for a day. Depends on the weather, last night while watching TV they interrupted our show with tornado warnings. "Take cover and go to your shelter and if you are in a mobile home go out and lay in a ditch." We felt like we were in a safe area did not seem windy and only a small lighting storm so we stayed put. All of these warnings do put your nerves on edge. The locals tell us not to worry while in Branson because they always turn and go the other way.
We went to our first show today, it was one that several people had told us about. It was Shoji, he is a Japanese violin player. It was terrific, he played all kinds of music and was really a master on the violin. He went to college in Japan but when he heard a recording by Roy Acuff and fell in love with country. This is his 20th year here, he has his own theater that probably seats 3,000. Tomorrow we are going to a Bluegrass festival and on Saturday night we will see Jim Stafford.
The Shoji Theater has a really elegant bathroom with fresh flowers and somebody to squirt hand lotion for you. Herm said in the mens urinal they had a man putting ice in the urinal. (I wonder if that was to make steam?)

I don't know if any of you watch RFD TV, but this is its home.
RFD stands for Rural Free Delivery and RFD. It has programs that are for the rural America that provides us with our food. I know that Herm enjoys the cattle auctions.
