We have got the big machine on the road and pointed North. It was a great day of traveling, we are parked and sitting here relaxing with a Margaretta in honor of Cinco De Mayo Day. We are spending the next two nights in Pixley which is about 60 miles North of Bakersfield. We have only one reason for stopping here and that is to go out and get some oranges fresh from the tree.
Not much here but farming and orchards with very sweet oranges. And the only television is in Spanish, and I was planning on spending the evening watching Dancing With the Stars!!
We stopped at the Flying J Truck Stop in Barstow for fuel. It was $4.37 gallon WOW and it cost us $268.00 that should get us close to the Oregon border. Even with the high cost of fuel it still feels good to be on the road, and of course Herm just loves driving.
This is the airplane bone yard by Edwards Air Force Base.
