Tuesday night Herm was looking outside and noticed a fire in the mountains, we went outside to watch. It was quite a site, you could see it growing. Fortunatly there is nothing up there but brush and rocks. The next day it was still growing but it was too windy for the airplanes to dump water.
It was blowing so hard that it turned over a truck over on the freeway, I thought it was going to blow our motorhome over. On top of that we had a 4.5 earthquake which we hardly felt because we were rocking and rolling so much from the wind. No sleep that night, I was waiting for a palm tree to fall over the top of our coach. It was blowing 60 miles an hour for about 10 hours.
Yesterday, no wind just a beautiful 83 degree day, they were able to put out the fire which burned 750 acres of brush. But I have had enough and I am ready to go home to Oregon, I am ready for some rain, the last rain we have seen was on our drive last Nov. to Mexico. So we will leave here on Monday and hopefully there will be no wind warning.
I postsed a picture of windmills, there is a reason this is the windmill capitol.
