Time To Get Ready For The New Year
We had a great Christmas, we spent it with Mark & family in Brentwood. It was so nice to be with the family and grandkids.
On Christmas Day Mark was busy in the kitchen, he with his Dad's assistance roasted a huge turkey, made dressing, cranberries and mashed potatoes. It was a very relaxing day for the women. Charmea's Family came for Christmas Day and they and Charmea made all the Philippino dishes. What a variety of food, we had so much we could not even get it all on the table.
This is a picture of Charmea's family. Her brother Ron and Mother Ella
After Christmas we had fun playing with the kids new toys. I loved the wii "Just Dance" and Herm, Mark and Casey had fun with the Wii golf. Casey was the master and the big winner.
Today Mom is leaving, she has been here for 6 weeks. I feel bad that she is going back to snow and cold weather but she say she misses her friends and dancing. So, I guess she is ready. She will be back in the Spring for another visit and to work on her golf game.
Our house will be empty without her being here, she is such of a joy and always gives us a good laugh. This year she started sleeping with a bar of soap. She says it is better to sleep with than a man. She is convinced that it prevents leg cramps, only Irish Spring works. When we went to Marks she forgot the soap and she had a leg cramp. Sounds crazy to me, but glad that it works for her.
Now it is time to get ready for the New Year, all the cookies and candy are gone and the soup is made. It is funny how good soup can taste after all of the rich holiday food.
Next week we are scheduled for Bocce Ball, Golf and I am signed up for Zumba. I am going to start the year off with all the good intentions of getting fit. And my other wish for the New Year is for my golf game to improve.
We want to wish all of you a Happy and Healthy New YEAR!!!!!
The day before leaving the desert for Marks we had a huge amount of rain. These are a couple of pictures that I took. The river is running down the golf course, it does not usually rain that much, but it was a really wet storm.
This car tried to drive though the water and did not make it. The drive was rescued and not hurt but the car was destroyed.
