Beautiful Day

break in tools
Yesterday the weather was beautiful, we were invited to go for a picnic with Doug, Vicki & Garrett to the river at Woodland.  We loaded up the barbeque and Garrett hooked up the wave runners and away we went. It was a almost perfect day all except for the call for the tow truck.  Like most of the outings we have been on with the wave runners it is usually only one out of the two that works.  It is never the same one either, but that gives Herm & Doug something to do that they really enjoy and that is getting out the tool box and digging into the inners.  They would much rather work on it them than ride them.  All was good because one ran like a mean machine and Garrett and Blaze (the dog) had a blast. This morning Mark called and first question was "did they both run" he sounded so disappointed that he was not here to help he loves getting into the toolbox too. They never did get it going, Doug seemed overjoyed that he has something to work on.

Blaze is not a good swimmer so he always wears his life jacket

Never in our 47years and 361 days of being married have we ever locked our keys in the car. But there is always a first.  I was the last to drive it, Herm looked in and seen that my purse was sitting on the floor and the doors were unlocked. That was because we were sitting right beside it and all of the picnic stuff had not been unloaded.  He always likes to have his car locked, so he pushed the button down. Somehow I ended up with both set of keys in purse on the floor and of course I had closed all the windows.   We decided that it would be pointless discussing who was at fault, probably better just call the professionals for some help. We do not have AAA, because we never need their assistance. The tow truck driver arrives and gets out his tools, and tells us that in30 years there have only been 2 cars that he has never been able to open and ours will be open in just a couple of minutes. After 1 hour and nothing was happening, I mentioned that he could dump out my purse and that is exactly what he did.  He dumped the purse with his long wire hook and hooked the keys, got it up far enough that he could stick in something and push the button to unlock the doors. Even with that it was still a great day.

Hey Donna, I have done that a time or two. Once the car was even running and the doors were locked, sitting in our driveway. Good thing Larry was home because he had the only extra key on his key ring. Glad you had a great time except for the car event.

Great Story. Didn't understand why he didn't try to dump the purse from the very beginning. I once thought I locked my keys in the car with the trunk open, so tried to get into the back seat through the trunk, only to find my keeps in my back pocket, which is where I never put them.!!
