Today we put down the dust cloth and unplugged the vacuum and took a drive with our friends to visit Oak Glen. This is apple country, nothing like the Washington apple orchards, this is a very small area but they have great tasting apples. It is about 4000 feet altitude and no water for the orchards.
It was a very scenic drive and only 1 hour away. Visiting these little apple farms was much like visiting wineries, lots of variates to taste. We came home with some apple butter and of course apples. Guess I will get out the rolling pin and make some pies.
This is a very popular place to visit in the fall, several tour buses and lots of school kids having field trips and all of this was in a 7 mile stretch.
What a surprise to get back home and have it 95 degrees, it was at least 20 degrees cooler in Oak Glen.
Norm & Marcel, thanks for the great outing, we loved our day.
