A Blow Out

Today coming home we had some excitement, we heard a huge boom and instantly smelled rubber. I almost peed my pants I was so scared, Herm was very calmly putting on the brakes while guiding the coach off the road. I was hollering "we are going to catch on fire". I heard that when you have a rear blowout this sometimes happens. He never once got excited or said any of those nasty words. He was so calm and in charge, I really love that man. We immediately got out and wow we had blew both left rear tires. Within 5 minutes ODOT stopped by and gave us the name of a couple of tire shops. We called Industrial Tire Service and they were there in no time had two new tires on. All of this while traffic is flying by at 65+miles an hour and it was 99.5 degrees. I was to scared to get out and get any pictures of this, but Herm stayed by Andrews side to give him a hand. We then went into Arlington and had two new tires placed on the rear right. With-in 3 hours we had 4 new tires and was back on the road. Andrew, our new hero from the tire shop is from Kentucky and used to play in a Bluegrass Band.
Now we need to take the Honda in to get a quote, some of the rubber flew up and did some minor damage but I suppose it will not be a minor amount of money to have it repaired.
Somedays are better than others, but I still love RVing and the rest of the day driving through the Columbia River George was so beautiful. I think that this is one of the most scenic areas in the Country.

Oh Donna...you make me laugh. Sometime I will have to tell you about the time we blew a tire on the pickup (with the camper on), while on a two week vacation with John and Carol through the Rockies of Canada. I thought Mel and Carol were going to pee their pants!
