San Andreas Fault

This is probably the hike that we do the most, it is easier than the other hikes that are in the area. A good one to do when you are trying to get conditioned.

Today the wind had finally stopped and it was a beautiful morning so no excuse not to get out and hit the trail. Sometimes I don't always want to go but when I get there I always love it. Today was our first hike since we returned from Mexico and it did feel good. This picture always reminds me of the wrinkles in my face.

It is interesting how you will see a oasis of palm trees, they will be where there is a underground springs. These springs are in the fault line and some of the water boiling to the surface is hot. I sure hope we are not in the area when they have a earthquake.
When we come to the oasis Herm will usually burst into song, Midnight at the Oasis.

Retirement for us has been everything that we have hoped for, we are really enjoying our lives. We our so lucky to have our health, and to be able to do the things that we enjoy. This week my cousin Dave has taken a turn for the worse. He is fighting a long battle with Cancer and has faced it with such courage. Caryl and Dave are two special people the way they have faced this demon, they are in our thoughts.

You guys look like you are having the time of your life! Nathan and I look forward to traveling when we retire. You shouldn't make it look so fun. It makes us want to take off and leave everything behind!
