Mojave Desert is Popping

The desert is in full bloom and what a beautiful site. These pictures are sure different from our earlier posts with the tropical pictures. Both places have their own beauty. Yesterday we visited Joshua Tree National Park and took these pictures.

The weather here is beautiful, although we have had a few days that have been over 100 and have had a couple of really windy days. When it is windy we get blowing sand that gets in everyplace.

I won't complain because even blowing sand is better than having rain or snow. Every time we think about going North we just look at the forecast and quickly change our minds.

Last night we did have a little slip in the San Andreas fault, we had a 3.5 earthquake. I sure hope we are not here for the big one.

Part of the beauty of the Park are all of the unusual rock formations. We always see a lot of rock climbers.

I wish the pictures would capture the true color of these bright red blooms of the ocotillo cactus.

Cholla Cactus these look so soft and puffy but they are NOT!!
