Barre Navidad

We took a road trip last week to Barre Navidad, it is 150 miles south of here. A nice quiet beach town, no horns honking and hardly any traffic. We rented a place for $30.00 a night, it was on the main street, clean and hot water in the morning. The rooms were really large even had a king size bed.
Our big entertainment was watching the people and traffic go by. We even had a parade, the happened about 10:00 at night just after we got to bed. Of course I had to get up to see what all the noise was about. It had a large band dressed in uniforms with about 300 Mexicans walking behind and partying. I think they are getting warmed up for Saint Patricks Day.

On our drive down we stopped at a town about 20 miles north of Barre, the river running through town had huge crocodiles. They were everywhere and weight at least 150lbs.It was nice to spend 3 nights there, but was ready to return to Puerto Vallarta.

Grand Bay Resort The rooms here start at $500.00 it must be a getaway for people that do not want to be seen. We were able to drive through the grounds although we did have to go past 3 security check points. We said we were just going to have a drink at the golf course. I am sure if someone famous was staying there they would not have let us past the first security check. We did not see one person walking around. We are thinking this place must have been built with drug money.
