Our kids can be proud of us again, they no longer have homeless parents. We have bought a house in the Portola Country Club in Palm Desert. It is a modular home or you could call it a manufactured home but I will not refer to it being a trailer house. We both fell in love with it when we walked in and it was full of light and wonderful views of the mountains and golf course. than I looked at the furniture and oh my gosh, saw those pink chairs with a sofa that will seat 15 covered in pink flowers and seafoam green carpeting. But after spending sometime and sitting down, I started thinking I might really like this although it is certainly not colors that I would have chosen, but I might like it. A lot of the decor shown in furniture stores in Palm Spring is from the 50's. They call it mid century also art deco is very big here.
This is a totally turnkey house, meaning all they are going to take is their clothes and personal items. So we don't need to buy any kitchen dishes, towels. ect. Last year we looked at a turnkey house that was empty and I looked in the refrigerator and it was stocked with food and a set of dentures. This turnkey comes with a big huge Lincoln car that is the size of a limo and a golf cart. But the thing we are most excited about is the fruit trees. We have a lemon tree, grapefruit and tangelo tree. So looks like we will be having fresh squeezed juice in the mornings.
The bad side of this transaction is Frank (the current owner) might need heart surgery and if that is the case he will rent the house from us until June 1st. We wish him well, he and his wife are a really wonderful couple.
