Virgin de Guadalupe

In all of Mexico they are celebrating the 12 days of Christmas it is in honor of the Virgin de Guadalupe which is the Patron Saint of Puerto Vallarta and also the large Cathedral in PV is in her honor. So the largest celebrations in Mexico take place in PV. This is a vey special time to be here, there are parades every night, also people from other States in Mexico bring their wares to sell. It is really a huge celebration that will end Dec. 12th with a parade that will last all night, because of the many thousands of people that want to visit the church. Some people walk for many miles in honor of the Patron Saint. The other night we saw a older lady crawling to the alter. All of this is very moving to see. In a few days I will post some more pictures of the parades.

We are getting used to the humidity, and the weather here feels great. We have only spent one day on the beach but then we have not been here for that long. I was happy to see George, he is my favorite beach vendor. I was so happy to see him that I bought 2 braclets and did not do a very good job of negotiating. He is so nice and he always asks about the rest of our family and wants to know how many will be coming and what about Mamasita, that is my mom. Of course what he is really wondering is how much $$ will I make this year.
