Parade and Pictures

We went to view the parade again tonight and I remembered my camera. The picture above was taken this morning on our way to Mismaloya .There were several hundred people marching and singing that special song that they sing. They were walking all the way to PV, which is about 1o miles. Many were pushing strollers with babies, and many old people using canes. They were marching right down the main highway and nobody was to excited over the traffic backup. They did have a police escort to help with traffic.
Tonight there was probably 200,000 thousand people watching the parade. It is the last night and the parade will go on until morning. There were lots of Mariachi bands marching and playing that same song. It is a very spiritual thing to see. Everyone holds a candle and they are all dressed in white, they march for many miles and then they turn the corner and there is the huge Cathedral with its doors wide open and its church bells ringing. The floats are all the same, they have the Virgin Mary standing with little Angels praying at her feet. I am sure it is a huge honor to be chosen to be the Virgin Mary. They are usually about 10-12 years old.
December here is a very good month to visit PV with the weather so nice and warm but the best reason for coming is the Virgin de Guadalupe celebration which really makes it a perfect.

Below are just some pictures that we have taken these last couple of days.
