We once again have had a great time at the "Foxall's Fiddle Fandango Blue Grass Festival"
In the Still Standing 103 year old barn!! What a great musical event, this festival is getting bigger each year. Joe, Leigh and Dixie treat their friends and neighbors around the New Plymouth area to a day of Blue Grass music. This year they had the "Chicken Dinner Road" Blue Grass Band. People came as far away as Minnesota, and one even flew in on a private jet.
We sit on bales of hay or in church pews in the old barn listening to some good toe tapping music.
I just love the people from Idaho, they are so friendly and have a different way of living life. This is a farming community of hard working honest folks, not poor but hard working. There was lots of cowboy hats, cowboy boots and big belt buckles.
Last year when we visited them we went to a rodeo at the county fair and I fell in love with with the cowboy image. I tried to get Herm to wear some of those tight fitting Wrangler's and wanted to get him a shirt with pearl snap buttons and I think he would look good with a big belt buckle too. He just gives m e a look like I am crazy.
Joe & Leigh are friends that we met when we first moved to the houseboat. We have known them for the last 23 years and have shared some great times together. They moved to Idaho about 4 years ago, we never would have guessed that those two would become farmers. Besides working off the ranch, they are growing hay and lavender, raising chickens.
