Road Trip to Barre Navidad

We just returned from spending 2 nights at a little beach town called Barre Navidad. It is about a 3 1/2 hour drive from PV. The length of the drive depends on how many loaded down trucks that are on the road. It is best not to be in a hurry just enjoy the scenery.
Last winter we went to Barre Navidad for a few days too, it is a great place to visit. So much quieter and a much slower pace than here in PV. They have only one police officer and he is always sitting behind his desk reading a book. He has no car only gets around on a bicycle. We did not meet any other Americans there all of the tourisits were from Canada. Tourism is really down, in Barre they said it was 50% less than last year, we rented a nice room with a kitchenette that was 1 block from the beach for $25.00 a day. Yes, it was very clean and had daily maid service with secure parking. We did have to ask if they had hot water, the first day I got into the shower and it was only cold water. After asking they turned it on and the next days shower was much nicer.

We talked Doug & Cathy into coming along with us. Doug is a great tour guide and knows every place in town. That is why we got such of a great deal.

We stopped for lunch at the Red Snapper RV park in Perula. Not much there but a beautiful beach.

Even the dogs in Barre are totally relaxed.

In Barre we rented a panga boat for 1 hour. We cruised across the bay to see the Grand Bay Resort. The rooms start at $300. a night. The place looks beautiful and has a golf course and a nice marina. We did see several huge yachts from Seattle and Bellvue.

This little guy was trying to carry all of these water jugs at one time. He could never hold onto more than 4 at one time.
